Perfect Summer Recipes To Serve On Father’s Day
We've probably all heard the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. So what better way to celebrate Father's Day than to spoil those special men in our lives with the gift of food?
Since Father's Day is in June, we are usually fortunate to have beautiful weather for this occasion. What does that mean for us food lovers? Summer recipes!!!
To me, summer is the best time to host. You have the option to go outside if you want. This also means you can cook outside in the fresh air if you desire. I think most of us could use the extra vitamin D.
So let's devise a plan and dive into some recipes to make your Father's Day celebration the best it can be!

What Meal Should I Plan On Hosting For Father's Day?
If you are going to host a Father's Day event, you must first decide what time of day the meal will be taking place. Are you planning a breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon grill-out, dinner?
Of course this depends on the availability of the guest(s) of honor, and your schedule too!
Since the time dictates the food choice, and breakfast foods can be far different than afternoon grilling, it's best to nail down these plans as soon as possible.
Once you have the time of meal figured out, the focus can shift to how many people will be attending and what types of food you want to serve.
What Foods Should I Make For Father's Day?
When choosing the foods for a Father's Day bash, remember to answer one simple question right off the bat. "What does dad like to eat?" Don't make the mistake of serving him something he doesn't really care for. Even though he would still eat it with a smile on his face since it is truly the thought that counts right?
Here are some other food considerations as you plan your menu:
- Best foods for the size of crowd in attendance
- Baked dishes you can make in the oven
- What is the main course?
- Appetizers, Side Salads, Desserts
- Can we grill outside?
What Drinks Should I Serve For Father's Day?
When it comes to the Father's Day drink menu, a wide variety of beverages is probably the best idea. Not everyone drinks beer, or wants a Coke, or just feels like having a water. And you might have young kids there who want milk or juice. Juice boxes work really well for the kiddos.
Honestly you'll probably want to have all of those things on hand. But you can still have fun by treating dad to his favorite drink. Buy his favorite beer or make his signature cocktail. If he doesn't drink alcohol, buy his favorite soda in bottles to make it feel a little more special.
And of course, don't forget the ladies in attendance! A couple bottles of wine, or maybe a box depending on crowd size, would be a nice touch.
